I know this has been covered here someplace but I can't seem to find it.

How do I get rid of duplicate entries in the right-click Open With... menu?

The two Skitches are duplicates, and the Vista entries are still persisting after I've told VMWare to not make these available.

How do I get rid of them?

Excellent question, I hope you do get an answer from here, otherwise it might be too advanced, and you might need to hit the Apple Discussion forums instead :P

I have a script somewhere which fixes it automatically too.

I'll post it when I get home tonight.

The terminal command in that thread no longer works, but there's a link to MacOSXHints which has this script:

(*
rebuildLaunchServicesDB.scpt
Locates the lsregister command regardless of OS version, then tells it to rebuild the Launch Services Database for all applications in the canonical Applications folder

*)

set theCommand to (do shell script "locate lsregister")
set theArguments to " -kill -r -f -domain local -domain system -domain user"
set thePath to " /Applications"--edit this as needed
set theScript to theCommand & theArguments & thePath
do shell script theScript
... which works perfectly.

Thanks :)
