Hello MacTalkers,

I was trying to look for a solution on the Internet, but once again I am stuck with the problem I can't work out how to solve it myself.

So here I ask you for some help/advice :)

I recently upgraded to iPhoto '09.

At the beginning I think I selected for my library to be rebuild with iPhoto file structure (I believe that's what happened).

I started playing with my library, for a week, everything worked jadi da.

Not sure if I have done an update to iPhoto via System update or just a general mac os update (maybe I did not - can't remember), but today I noticed I can't open my library.

When opening iPhoto, I receive the following message:

"The iPhoto library needs to be upgraded to work with the version of iPhoto"

wtf. I think I have already updated it a week ago.

But anyway, I click on upgrade. Wait for a while - hoping that it will start working after this action - and bang! I receive another message saying:

"You can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto"

Hmmm... very strange. I can only quit iPhoto. I haven't made any changes to the library besides the initial "upgrade" action a week ago.

I read somewhere else on forums to try opening iPhoto with OPTION or OPTION COMMAND but none of the diagnostic commands (I tried all of them) would help me resolve this problem.

Would any of you have any suggestions? I am a bit stuck with this and not sure if I have corrupted my library in any way - yes, no backup :(

I run:

10.5.6
2.8 GHZ Intel Core 2 Due
3 GB iMac
260GB free on HDD

Thank you in advance,

sgnwsk

Have a look at these Apple Support Forums, it seems you are not the only one having this problem.

iPhoto Crashes and then Database seems corrupt (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1883952&tstart=0)

iPhoto '09 think it is iPhoto '08 (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8938893#8938893)

Hi FineWine,

Thanks for pointing me to the proper user forum.

They explained a lot in there.

Much appriciated.

PS. Since I am new in here. If I resolved my post or I found my answer somewhere else, is there any way I can close my Thread or delete it not to spam the forum?

Thanks

Do not do that.

Tell us how you resolved your problem with pointers to where you found the answers.

That is what these forums are all about - helping others.
