View Full Version : Eyetv Wonder Usb2.0

Hi All,

I have a new EyeTV Wonder USB2.0 and have found it works well - except that auto tuning results in channel 10 appearing in black and white only. From the same antenna point I receive excellent reception for ten on a television.

Any suggestions for a fix?

Cheers and thanks,

I have been searching out reviews online as I'm interested in getting one of these myself.

I didn't know that they were now available in Oz....

Unfortunately now I can't track down the only real review that I could find - it was MacUser UK or MacWorld mag online - but they were highly unimpressed with the beta they were given to review. It worked fine, but they found that the recording software functions were not very well implemented.

If I can find the review again I'll post the URL here....

Here's the review - luckily I have a dual G5 - http://www.macworld.com/2005/04/reviews/ey...der20/index.php (http://www.macworld.com/2005/04/reviews/eyetvwonder20/index.php) :)

I have just installed the eyeTV Wonder this afternoon and everything seems simple to operate. I've made some test recordings and they look great - so ignoring a black and white channel 10, all is perfect.

The real test will be when I'm out and the Mac records Doctor Who - let's see if it wakes up and does a good job.... :)

I'll keep posting my findings. Any questions?

I paid full price - $289 - but it's here in my hands :)

I think you can get it for around $249 if you shop around....good luck

Is that analog or digital tuner? does it have video in?

Can it show TV shows in widescreen?

And does the tv guide work how you click the TV show and it records it for you?

I have one burning question, how does it handle games....
They say its pretty quick (USB 2.0 and all), but... on a mac mini... If it is fast enough though, the PM should be able to handle it...
