I have a customer with Optus GPRS internet access issues.

He has a 15 inch PBG4 (less than 6 months old) and he connects to his Nokia 6230 (of similar vintage) via bluetooth. He has all the latest system updates (10.3.9) and bluetooth firmware is up to date.

He uses the bluetooth connection to Sync with his PalmOne Tungsten T5 (and before that a Zire 72 which was replaced because the dialer application on it wont talk to the 6230) so I am confident in the bluetooth side of things.

He can connect to the internet using his mobile phone but the connection drops far too often for no reason.

We used to have his PBG3 connect to his Nokia 6310i via infra red and it would actually call the ISP dial up number. I have unsuccessfully tried this on the new machines and Optus have confirmed it wont work, hence the GPRS.

The only modem script options I have are for iR 6210_8xxx

Anybody else with a similar setup?

Ok, I have just done what I should have done before posting here...a bit of searching.

I will try the suggestions at http://www.taniwha.org.uk/ and see how I go.
