Hi,

I am about to embark on a project for a friend to get data of an old G3 running 10.3 without a monitor.

I have a new 17" Intel iMac and a G4 Powerbook running 10.4 and a firewire cable.

I will try using target mode with firewire first.

If this doesn't work, is there a way I can use the Imac or Powerbook as a monitor?

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Anyone tried this with a G3 before?

take the hard drive out and put it in a external enclosure make sure its IDE
you can pick them up cheap at most computer shops it has to be 3,5 IDE
then just use the Migration Assistant
