This is possibly one of the stranger questions you've seen, but it's been bugging me for three years.

I've got an imac and I've been wondering if there's any reason why I can't download any gif's. You know, moving icons and such.

I can get the first image, but anything after that is non-existent.

I'm not sure if this is an imac quirk, or just me.

Anyone have any ideas why, or how I could go about getting the whole gif?

just drag the gif file to your preferred browser and it'll display nicely.

There used to be a "Play" button in Preview for either Mac OS X Panther or Tiger - can't remember which one - that could play these GIFs. In current versions of Mac OS X it's gone.

Always wondered where that button went. Was pretty handy back in the day.

QuickTime will play animated .gifs as well.
