View Full Version : Some threads open in new tab, some don't - why is it so?

I view MacTalk via the Latest Posts Spy, and I've found that some threads I click on open in a new tab and others don't. Can anyone tell me what determines how a thread opens? I don't do anything differently (as far as I know).

although I don't know the answer to this, I felt it was better to ask it here than a new thread
(if not, mod please delete and I will repost it appropriately)

Is there a setting in safari to make ALL links open in new tabs, rather than new windows, but still make links that would normally replace the existing window go ahead as normal?

I remember this one from last year, I think it should still work. In Terminal.app enter:

defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true

Only works for target:_blank links, not javascript window:open links.
