Why is it illegal when Windows platform can be installed on Mac

It's illegal, osx needs to be reversed engineered to even work with the PC and it breaches the EULA.

As for Windows on a Mac, As far as Microsoft is concerned it's just a partition with a pretty boot menu and its not changing the boot code at all.

Do your research mate.

haha what? Do Microsoft make their own computers? Do you see anyone else selling computers with OS X pre-installed (besides pissystar + friends)?

Yes it is illegal, read the EULA.

When you install OS X on a PC you cant upgrade easily (10.5.5 -> 10.5.6) and good luck finding kexts for all your hardware and getting it to actually work.

In short: it's possible, but you won't find out how it's done here.
