From memory the iPhone has a moisture sensitive colour spot which is illuminated when wet.

Yeap it turns red when exposed to liquid. Try putting it into a bag full of rice some people have got it working this way.

Well they will know it's water damage because they will check the pads. How did you get it wet? Did you submerge it?

Apple will know if it's water damaged. Don't even bother trying to convince them its not.

Here are the comparison photos that I took of my super clean iPhone I put through the wash (http://forums.mactalk.com.au/54/59707-argh-nuts-just-put-iphone-through-wash-suggestions.html) and my brand new replacement iPhone.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present the moisture sensor! :p

That's what I thought of my nano after it went through a wash cycle. I left it on my side table for a few days to dry off. Then like a week or so later i just thought i'd try it to see if it'll turn on, and then BAM it lit up, a little slow at first, but it came back to life!! Now the only problem is that it doesn't charge up through the wall outlet anymore, just USB... but that's a SMALL price to pay haha
