View Full Version : How Do U Separate Audio From Image In Final Cut

Hi im currectly working on a doco in final cut pro and want to unlock a clips audio from its picture to overlay over another peice of video, can someone tell me hwo to do this, as id really apreciate it cheers

I'm not on my Mac at home so I can't give you specifics or images, but there's a button on the right hand side of the screen in the middle (between the timeline and the view windows) that looks like an interlocking chain - click this and you will be able to deal with audio and video separately.

Alternatively, simply do a search on Final Cut help and you'll find ways to de-link audio/video. :)

Hold down ctrl and shift and then click on the two audio tracks, they'll become highlighted so that you can then move them along the timeline independant of the video, and it will also give you displacement time from its originaly linked video
