Hi,

If you have a Finder window open, and you click the Finder icon in the dock, it automatically switches focus to that Finder window that is already open.

If you right click on the dock icon you can select "New Finder Window".

Is there anyway to make it possible that when I just click the Dock icon, it automatically opens a "New Finder Window" rather than switching focus to the currently open window.

Cheers, and thanks in advance,

Mark.

I don't know about clicking the icon, I just use :cmd: + N for new window. Just make sure the Finder is selected, or else you'll make new windows in whatever application you have open!

There's an application called Fiwi (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/29830/fiwi) that will open two symmetrical finder windows when you click it in the Dock or Sidebar.
