Regarding to the topic above:
1.
I'd found a source version of SPIM (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~larus/spim.html) to requires compilation at terminal, I'm not very good at UNIX, enough for my programming needs... Anyway it says it SHOULD support Mac OSX but it didn't manage to makefile, not at all after several attempts and different config... it gives error upon compilation

2.
Found another one that is in .dmg format (http://www-inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/~spim/precompiled/MacOSX/) and it was all good installing it, except it doesn't open any file at all, not even when I tried putting files at every possible corner in the directory!

I need help urgently as I'm running out of time for my uni prac, can't afford to stay up in uni's pc lab for 5,6 hours weekly work!

Thanks mate!

The 2nd website with the dmg file has a RTF file on how to rebuild and compile your own version. Have you tried to follow its instructions on rebuilding a new one? Might be worth a go.

Just to clarify - you're obviously talking about a programming language, not instant messaging SPAM (also known as 'SPIM')? :)

Not quite helpful cuz it actually redirect me back to the first website I mentioned... Having SPIM running in VPC though but it's a real pain in the arse...

So your telling me the following RTF file from the dmg site is of no use?

http://www-inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/~spim/pr...gSpimMacOSX.rtf (http://www-inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/~spim/precompiled/MacOSX/BuildingSpimMacOSX.rtf)

Try and build one using that document and see what happens. Worse case, someone else might like to compile it. If I wasn't at work, then I might do so. But I am at work doing some support cases, so it counts me out for now.

Damn I'm now banging my head on the wall, I may be a little dumb in this but I swear I'd tried my very best to do everything that I know, some turned out to be wrong directory, some error compilation, I really don't know what's next...

If you install darwinports, there is a spim port.
