View Full Version : [mel] Wireless For Mac Users Now Available At Rmit

6th May 2005, 03:33 PM
I am posting this because there was a thread here a while ago and the service has now commenced operation.

The only downside is that apparantly the Mac VPN client doesn't support Tiger. But the developer is working on it.

Here is the link for info and to download the cilent.

hrm... that brings up a good question. My uni (QUT) has had wireless for years now. Previously it was just a matter of setting up proxy's and a VPN through OSX which I guess could be a bit daunting to non-IT students. However this year they upgraded to a new, somewhat more reliable CISCO system with two CISCO APs in every lecture theatre. To connect, they instruct you to download a CISCO VPN client.

I wonder if our VPN client is tiger compatible? I also wonder if I can do away with the CICSO VPN software and just go back to setting up the VPN through OSX. I would give it a try but I don't know any of the settings.
