As do I, and on my old macbook pro too.

Kinda stinks really. It seems to hiss, then stop, and start again when there is a sound made. for about 10 seconds.

I've not been entirely satisfied with the analogue audio output on my Nov 2006 MacBook Pro. Plug it into any decent amp and various computer sounds leak through. The thing to do is find a USB or optical DAC/AMP and use that.

Does it still have the soundcard popping sound (http://www.appledefects.com/wiki/index.php?title=MacBook_Pro#Headphone_Out_Static_N oise_and_Pops) issue?

ok so i played some music on the macbook using my sennheiser HD215, and there wasn't any hissing with those.

but when i put on my sennheiser cx300, it's hissmania!

so maybe apple is not *entirely* at fault here. but still, after a brief glance at macrumours and official apple forums, there seems to be alot of other users who have the same issu.e
