I know i am! Hopefully by then you'll be able to get it on a better Telstra plan / Outright.

Something is telling me that Telstra won't be offering 'better' plans

Cause we haven't seen any pricing updates regarding data and/or calls from any other carriers since it came out. *cough* Vodafone

Are you talking about an iPhone update? A 32GB model doesn't sound unrealistic.

Yep. That's what i'm hoping for. Could be timed well with new firmware.

considering most 12 month contracts will be ending in July they might hold out till later in 09, why rush an upgrade when you have more time to improve on the product.

When the new iPhone comes out (32GB although I'm hoping for a 64GB) I will give (sell) my iPhone to sister and I will get the new one. Need more storage space.

The iPod Touch doesn't even have 64GB, and that's an iPod. I couldn't see the iPhone (remember it's a Phone :D) getting that sort of sizing before the Touch does.

So what happens if a 32GB is released and one wants to upgrade to the new model (on the existing plan)

Will it just be the $200 ($300?) or so for the new device... or could it be more?

Yes, it could be more, or it could be less, or it could be the same. What answer were you really anticipating, and who do you expect to know that answer? :(

Yeah there has been some talk about releasing the 32GB early next year.. But I'm quite content with 16gb!

The Americans would have had to go through this when upgrading to the iPhone 3G :)

i think the 32gb will be released end of nov or just before xmas for the xmas sales... 99% sure, would be stupid not to do it. Thats why there was no 3G 32Gb released in June because they cannot fit 64gb in an iPhone yet so if they had released the 32gb with the original line up there would be nothing for xmas and sales would drop dramatically. Hence they kept the 8 and 16gb so that they have something to release for xmas

Yeah, at a certain cut off time they were able to re-up for another contract for a reduced phone cost. Anyone who bought more recently were either declined the option or were charged more.

Faster downlink/uplink capacity- to Telstra's planned Next G 42Mbps downlink maximum...
