Hi Guys,

My dad is using a Tungsten T5 PDA, and he wants to secure Palm Desktop. He thought adding a password to the PDA (which he wanted to do anyway) would put the password on his user account so when you open it up in Palm Desktop it would ask for one - but it doesn't.

I did a search of the help files and fished around in the perfs, as well as a google search and could find nothing.

Does anyone here have it set up like that or have some better ideas on how to set it up?

cheers,

The password on the PDA only protects the PDA and is also used to protect or lock files (which then on Palm Desktop would require that password to show them).

Apart from that, the user account is the only lock that I know of.

The password in Palm machine is to protect the mask data of the built-in software, and also to lock the whole machine without others to access.

So anyone can open your desktop can still access your Palm Desktop unless you mask all the entry in the PIM.
