Hi,

I was hoping to get an email from apple today telling me that my copy of apple had shipped today and I should be getting it tomorrow... however... it hasnt shipping and my order si still being prepared.. or something like that. I ordered it over a week ago, so I thought I would have easily made the cut off.

Has anyone else's being shipped yet? I won't be angry if I dont get it tomorrow... Just disapointed.

It will come :D

Yeah I ordered as soon as the Apple Store reopened and it's still "Preparing for Shipment".

My copy of Panther didn't arrive until a week after it was released so I hope they didn't accidentally leave some American advertising for tiger on their site...

There'll be a lot of angry customers if it doesn't arrive tomorrow! I particularly like Apple's little disclaimer at the bottom of the Tiger email I just got...

"*Order must be received no later than April 26. Delivery dates are based on delivery method selected by customer and represented information from third-party carriers. Apple is not responsible for any late deliveries."

Based on the timestamp, I'd say they've all gone out, but for some reason the system hasn't been updated to say so. Why that would be, I have no idea. Apple Australia must hate us.

Rant time....

I ordered Tiger on 13 April... as I had proudly mentioned before...

Checked my order - as in constantly - to see when it was shipped - the little order thingo said on or before 28/04/2005 - to be received in time for the 29th...

So YESTERDAY I called to make sure that it was shipping - I was assured that it was to be shipped and I would receive it by tomorrow...

NOW looking at my "preparing for shipment" it says - on or before 02/05/2005 ...hmmmmmmm

So I rang the sales menions in 133 URPHUQUED and asked why the change in status... the respondee indicated that my order has indeed been shipped but "the system has not updates yet and I should receive my order by

MONDAY!!!! the 2nd of MAY!!!" I am not happy...

I reminded this "in-duh-vidual" that I had placed my order in plenty of time to receive my order on my doorstep by the advertised date of delivery... and very politely asked why I had not been notified of my shipment and that it was now delayed... And the reason for that delay...

His multilingual response was - "I am so very sorry, but I do not have an adeequaite (that is what it sounded like) answer for you. I am so sorry if you are displeased. I hope you have a nice day."

Ask me if I am happy... I could have bought it from my favourite local Apple shop tomorrow evening! Grrrrrrrrrrr

A couple of things worth considering before anarchy reigns:

Apple Order Status Pages.
These are normally inaccurate when it comes to Australian orders, and by inaccurate I mean days out. On four previous occasions when I've purchased from the online store the goods have arrived long before the 'preparing shipment' message was updated and shipping confirmation email was received.

Apple Server Loads.
Numerous individuals have mentioned on other forum boards that after telephoning Apple they were informed that the servers are currently taking a battering and, as a result, are experiencing long delays in updating information.

Relax everyone, I ordered an Airport Express on 26 April at same time as Tiger, it shipped on 27th and arrived in Brisbane today by Star Track Express.

Jeez people, calm down - it's really quite entertaining reading this thread to see how wound up people are getting.

If Tiger doesn't arrive tomorrow, perhaps you should be slightly upset - but at least give them an opportunity to fulfill their promise before whingeing about them breaking it!

It is extremely unlikely that they won't fill orders placed before the 26th. It is also possible that they will use Australia Post Express Post to send some copies (even though it says Star Track is the courier). They have been known to do this for smaller items.

For those of you who haven't received shipping confirmations, don't despair. Chances are they haven't properly updated or something small like that - just wait until tomorrow before getting too excited about it. :)

You need to re-read what he said.

You take the Apple Delivery Number from your Shipment Confirmation Email and enter it into the Reference Number field in Star Track's 'Track and Trace' section.

But as I mentioned, there's an off chance that they might have used Australia Post too, in which case there won't be any corresponding Delivery Number.

And for the record, my copy of Tiger (along with the handy bonus of a new Powermac and display) also shipped tonight with an ETA of tomorrow :)

The Apple Delivery Number and the STE number don't work in Track and Trace. When i enter the STE number without the leading zeroes I got results from the delivery of some other package which was completed on 19 April!!

I give up tonight, it might update in the morning hopefully. One would imagine that Apple has experienced professinals in their warehouse and that they have made solid arrangements with their delivery people. Let's just hope the STE truck doesn't rollover on it's way into Melbourne tonight :-)

Track and trace certainly doesn't work for me yet. I found it myself when my powerbook was shipped via STE a while back, so I know how to do it. I'm guessing it either hasn't been processed yet or is going by Australia Post... I somehow hope it isn't the latter.

otherwise i think it will be waiting over the weekend for me. one thing that i have noticed is that my powerbook was delivered to me on a saturday morning last year, so i guess they still could be a chance for us.
