View Full Version : Why does Transmit refuse my FTP password?

Hey guys,

I have a very standard web-host solution, which I use Transmit to upload and download files on a daily basis. However, for some unknown reason, when I try and store the account in my favourites, it refuses to connect, stating that the password is wrong. Weird thing is, when I go and connect to the server manually (using exactly the same details as are in the favourites entry) it will work. It's kind of annoying having to go into a text file everytime I want to connect to an FTP server, and I'd hate to have to go back to Filezilla using VMWare everytime I want to use FTP. Any ideas to possibly fix this issue?

Thanks :)

Not a direct solution, but try CyberDuck.

Cyberduck | FTP, SFTP, WebDAV & Amazon S3 Browser for Mac OS X. (http://www.cyberduck.ch)

I have never had a problem with it.
On the PC side I would use FileZilla or these days, WinSCP. Both free.

I had it installed for awhile, but it grosses me out. Transmit is so so so so so so pretty, plus it integrates really well with Coda (my main IDE). It's always there as a last resort, I guess, but I'd love to be able to fix this tiny flaw if possible.

Look inside Keychain Access.
Delete references to Transmit/stored password.

Try again.
