Hi,

I have just bought an iSight and I have a couple of questions I'm hoping you guys can help me with:

1. Can I only video conference with people with a .mac or an AIM account?

2. Can I use the iSight to take short video clips of me?

Cheers,

Jamie.

1) I am not sure about this. I think so, in iChat

2) Yes, I believe iMovie can read the iSight as a camera, and you can import straight into there.

Thanks for that. I have now worked out how to use the iSight through iMovie.

I'm still a bit puzzled by the web conferencing though. I would like to use the iSight with Skype or MS Messenger, but I think I can only use .MAC or AOL IM. Any pointers appreciated.

Thanks,

Jamie.

To use iSight with another application, you might want to check this page (http://mac.sillydog.org/isight/apps.php).

You can't use MSN Messenger (for Mac) with iSight. There's no audio or video feature in MSN Messenger (for Mac).

Other chat applications you can use are: iSpQ and iVisit.

You can use iSight for video in Yahoo, but apparently there is no sound.

Thanks. This is all very helpful. Final question:

Which application do you think is the best for conferencing with users of Windows machines?

Cheers,

Jamie.
