Just read up on theiphoneblog.com, a tip to increase your browser speed by turning off javascript.

I did a little test over wireless and loaded up the smh front page in about 12 seconds with it turned off, compared to about 41 seconds with it turned on!

Obviously, quite a few sites will be affected by this, so it may get annoying toggling it off and on all the time. Still - good to know.

I don't think it's worth the trade-off/speed increase.

JavaScript is pretty useful/essential.
