View Full Version : Connecting iPhone to home PC Wifi

Howdy. I'm new here and had a quick search of the site first.
My iPhone 3G can connect to my Windows XP PC's Wifi card in Ad Hoc mode, but if I change the Wifi connection to share the internet then ALL my internet traffic on the local PC tries to go OUT the Wifi connection to my iPhone instead of letting the iPhone connect INTO the PC and use the PC to route the iPhone network traffic to the internet.
Any suggestions? :)

TIA!

Try bridging the connections (go to network connections, highlight both interfaces, right-click, select bridge) instead of using Windows Internet Connection sharing. That would do it, I would think.

Thanks.

I worked out the answer.

To answer my own question:

* Use SHARED : WEP for the encryption.

* Set ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) on the LAN adapter, NOT the Wifi one.

* Set a password

Problem solved!
