It is sort of an off-topic disucssion, but hey, that's what the "General Discussion" forum is for.

One question I like to ask when meeting new people is what kind of music they're into. So, what are your favourite bands?

Mine would be (at this point in time):
Rush
My Bloody Valentine
Something For Kate
Dream Theater
The Jesus Lizard

Gotta love the play count feature in iTunes :)

If I don't hear 'good' music day by day, I don't know what would happen ...

Some of my faves:
- Sparklehorse
- Lamb
- Doves
- DJ Shadow
- Elliot Smith (sob)
- Machine Translations (great live!)

Oh, and I have my Radiohead tix.

I'll just narrow mine down otherwise I would be here all day. I love late 60's rock, and early punk. My favourite artists of all time are Joe Strummer, Joey Ramone & Led Zeppelin.

Well a long time ago I used to work in radio so my tastes are fairly mainstream too - I'm pretty much with you Shawry. Evanescence being the current cd in my player.

me = jazz!

also don't mind 'light' pop as something to make noise in the background.. but i draw the line at depressing rock , anything bling bling or pop for the sake of mtv...
i know i sound like i'm on a bandwagon, but ehh...

lets see... i also like video game music! i have GTA3+4, max payne 1+2 and Mafia soundtracks ripped out of the games and sitting in my iTunes.

also starting to get into j-pop and anime soundtracks.

Make sure you check out The Brilliant Green, the only J-Pop band I can tolerate :P
And FuriKuri, the soundtrack for it is pretty great (the anime is my all time favourite)
