G'day y'all yet again... :)

Ok... so... the hunt for a Pismo continues...

Meanwhile... though my previous hunt didn't find an iBook G3 (white) within my price range, how do they compare? Spec wise they seem similar... is the Pismo still better?

Thanks and cheers

I'd get the Pismo, its a much nicer machine.

the pismo is a beauty and very nicely finished. However it's slower than the white ibooks. But, cheaper. I don't think you're losing with either to be honest.

Main reason i prefer the Pismo is that its more upgradable. It has an easily replacable CPU. You can easily replace the DVD drive by putting another drive into the removable bay, it has a PC Card slot, etc.

oh, yes, and you can take out the optical drive and replace it with a 2nd battery, too...

Very nice...

I have two Pismos (both a bit sick) and am paying to get them repaired, rather than replace them. They are beautifully built and very robust. Runs 10.3.9 with no issues at all.

the reason id choose and ibook over a pismo is the graphics card.ibook is way ahead there
