Just found this on Gizmodo about one of my favourite free apps "Aurora Feint" being removed from app store for security problems.

From what I understand you don't need to delete it just not use the community function.

Correct, you have to tell it to search your contacts. I didn't want it going through my contacts, so I never used the function.

It's kind of a shame because other than the security issue, the game is pretty much the best free game at the moment. Well, other than Tap Tap.

It's getting fixed to use https to transmit contacts if you use the community feature, so hopefully it'll be up again soon. I didn't use the community feature, so I'm okay, but got rid of the app about a week ago and was going to get it again tonight :(

Hey Guys,
I'm one of the developers of Aurora Feint. I would like to clarify that we do not know why our application was removed from the store. We submitted an update hours before being delisted. Apple has not contacted us and their policy is to contact developers when an app is removed. It's possible there is a bug in their update system. We have been trying to figure out a way to contact someone at Apple who can give us more information. All media reports that we were removed due to "lousy security practices" are pure speculation.

Please see our message to the community at Aurora Feint - Latest On AF Missing From App Store (http://aurorafeint.proboards100.com/index.cgi?board=crash&action=display&thread=346) for more details.

It's back and the issue seemed to have been resolved. No bad intent involved. :)

Yuck. Delete, delete, delete.

The developers contrition won't put the horse back in the stables.
