Yep, the Simpsons creators must like macs... All the "screen shots" I have seen have looked a lot like pre X mac os, and all the computer noises that are played seem very similar to apple's sounds.
They tend to use a sound that is very much like sosumi a lot :)

Alias has been mentioned a few times (but I think worthy of more plugs). There are lots of Mac products in Alias... and the more you watch this season - the more you will see popping up all over the place!
The latest series of Alias has heaps of powerbooks in the APO HQ. At least I think they're powerbooks, or really good rip offs. The ghey thing is... over the apple logo on the back, is a big red dot. WTF is up with that? I'm pretty sure they're powerbooks from the few shots of the front/keyboard.

Ok, I was watching this anime called "Armitage". A movie about a bunch of cyborgs and robots and stuff on Mars, and as the 2 main characters are walking down some Martian road in a city, they show a shot of a bunch of Apple boxes sitting on the ground (with the old school coloured logo) and an Apple logo stuck on the wall.

I wonder what systems the production teams used on that movie ;)

With the newly released 'Revenge of the Sith' DVD in my hands today, I was trawling through the smorgasbord of extras and was very happy to see the amount of Macs and OSX on display. Many of the magic of the third (and best of the modern era) Star Wars movies was created using Macs of course. So for this installment of 'Mac Watch' it is my great pleasure to present, the head-honcho himself - George Lucas - hard at work with a 15" Powerbook. I reckon Apple are paying to provide the 'puters for Headland. One of the characters (the token "nerd" ) recently gave a speil in his dialog with another character about how he was a linux lover, but the latest iBook was best hardware out there (words to that effect, anyway.) If Apple aren't paying for that to be written into the script (this is commercial TV), then I have a small knob :D

All of course with a terrible grey label over the Apple logo.

It looks like they are trying to hid the Apple logo with a sticker the same colour as the PB this time rather than put a "sticker" or a company logo over the top of it.

Veronica Mars is littered with Macs.

there is even a scene where the father buys Veronica a brand new powerbook (albeit it is already the model she is using: she switches from a titanium to an aluminium through out the series).

I just finished reading Dance of Death by Lincoln Preston. The book is ok, not as good as their previous books. But.. the characters in the book use macs.

And it is funny, the few times that it is mentioned, it is completely useless information. Describing an office and saying there is an "..imac g5 with wireless bluetooth internet connection." [sic]. In another scene they are talking about 4 imac [sic] laptops. Beside the fact that it is not completely correct, it almost looks like product placement/advertisements. I had not seen this in any novel before.

The Top Gear website has a review of the new Jaguar XK. The journo's review of the car including the following comments about the in-dash command centre:

The XK is a triumph inside. It would have been wrong, all-wrong for Jaguar to have gone down the super-high- tech route espoused by the German manufacturers. Peppering the inside of a car with buttons is a handy way to make a car feel expensive, but Callum's team has gone a different route.

There's no iDrive in here (nor, it must be said is there the corresponding degree of complexity or adaptability in the car, Jag's engineers tending to trust their own judgements rather than those of the customers when it comes to set-up, a view I tend to agree with), but there is an all-powerful screen.

It's a touchscreen job and it's a revelation. Jag's London-based design consultants, Imagination, were involved in the design of the screen's logic and graphics, and it shows. The counter-intuitive BMW iDrive and the Byzantine 'Benz COMAND systems look, in comparison like they were designed by car guys on a PC running a very early Windows OS.

Which they probably were. The Jag/Imagination system looks like it was designed on a Mac, by a cool information graphics graduate on a huge retainer. Which it almost certainly was.

I'm not sure of the validity of these comments, but having seen the BM's iDrive I'd have to agree with the comparison to M$ in regard to it's user unfriendliness.

Gary Numan this week released a new album (yes, he's still around - never really stopped (except in 1981 when he anounced he was retiring... but came back in '82). Gary has about 20 albums to his name).

Anyway, in this video (http://www.jagged-album.com/video2.html) of Numan performing the title track from his new album Jagged you can see a PowerBook in front of the keyboard player, the glowing Apple can often be seen behind Gary when the stage lights are low. B)

And before some smartarse born after 1980 makes some stupid comment about Gary Numan copying Nine Inch Nails . Trent Resnor (of NIN, a known Apple devotee from way back) has often named Numan as an influence and has covered his songs on numerous occassions, as have Foo Fighters and Marilyn Manson, to name a few.

Yeah, I'm a Numan fan (have been since 1979) - if you hadn't already figured that out by the 'Are Friends Electric? comment in my sig :)

There was even one which had stand removed and was bolted to a rail doing nothing more than showing a slideshow - bit of a waste really!

There were also a couple of eMacs at the Justice and Police Museum in Circular Quay.

I haven't read the complete 35 pages of this post so apologise if I'm someone's already mentioned this :( but Carey (Sarah Jessica Parker) in Sex & the City as some may know her character is a writer and each episode she seats in her room typing an article as you hear her voice speaking what she's thinking/writing and she uses a Mac I don't know which one though because it's a Black notebook with the big lighted Apple logo at the back...I thought that only the Macbook has come in Black but I watched it before the MB was released.

Another one was that the RTA uses Macbook screens but PC desktops :o don't have any idea why they don't just go one way or the other

Apple have released heaps of black notebooks in the past - probably beginning with the "Wallstreet" Powerbook. The earliest - but very rare - black Powerbook is the Powerbook 550c, a 33Mhz 68040 screamer, but was only released in Japan and hence very difficult to obtain.

If you look at the "behind the scenes" area of the Sony Bravia commercial (the one with all the coloured balls bouncing down the street) at the end of this video you see an old iMac and I think it's a iBook, I would be curious to see what is under the desk and what type platform they are actually using to edit the SONY commercial do you think it would be a SONY computer?

Watched a doco on the insurgents in Iraq last night on SBS. A photographer was using a PowerBook out in the field.

Also in the video (http://www.video-c.co.uk/micrositedisplayfull.asp?vidref=gold011&page=watch&FileType=ADSLProg) to Goldfrapp's song 'Number 1' there's a G5 iMac (no built iSight) on the receptionists desk. Great clip by the way.

Hi. Not really a seen thing, although I am almost certain that it is in the clip, but MC Lars song "Download this song" mentions a G5 production, which i presume refers to a G5 Mac...its a cool song.

My partner just pointed out that Mike Gouldman from Big Brother Up Late uses what looks like a Mac Book Pro

Also, I am not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but Elle in Legally Blonde uses a Mac in Pink (oh why dont they bring back the pink laptops). And in Legally Blonde 2 she uses an iBook that has a custom cover on it in pink (I SO WANT ONE!) :D

I also just noticed that the crime lab in American Dad there is a cartoon version of an imac but it is black.

 I cannot believe that they showed the "Sony" name on the CRT monitor they were using and I cannot believe they did not take out the two Apple comps that was in their SONY ad :o I find that so ironic

I would have hated to be the cleanup person for that ad. They would have had to clean the balls up as cars would not have been able to drive over it and on top of that I'm sure they got a few lawsuits/complain as those balls would most likely have damaged some of the parked cars :P

I didn't know that Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde had pink Ibook <_<

I've done that with technical specs for retailers I know use PC's as Point-of-sale's, just quietly slip in a photo of an eMac here, an iMac there, maybe an iBook or PowerBook to see if they're awake... no one (other than my colleagues) has ever made a comment :P

Quite a number of clubs use Powerbooks, specifically for the software that they use. The ex-coach of the Kookaburras (hockey) developed a video player tracking software on the Mac, that can be used for a number of sports other than footy. We sold the guy his Mac :-)

Back on track, if anyone happens to see Fast Inc (MTV car show), two guys in the show use a Powerbook and an iBook. The logos were visible in the first episode, then covered up in the second :-(

I went to a Microsoft Visual Studio .net 2005 developer presentation toward the end of 2005. One of the chaps at the back (running the slideshow) was using a 15" Powerbook. (BTW. The presentation wasn't running off that machine though.)

It was pretty ironic that you see a dude in a black-flashy Microsoft shirt leaning back with that bright white Apple logo arua flowing from the console desk. And this was at a time when Intel notebooks were a twinkle in Apples eye.

ps. I am not saying that Microsoft employees can't use Apple machines. But the irony was with the MS presenters cramming "buy/use/distro our products!" and you turn around and a MS employee is playing with his Powerbook. Me and my co-workers had a chuckle.
