Hi all,

When I run growl, I get this error which usually pops up 3 or 4 times:

Hmmm, perhaps I have fixed it. I have restarted my computer since opening up the prefs again, and that big long horizontal pop-up menu was not greyed out.

Also, the "Instant" check box was checked. I un-checked it, and everything became greyed out, and so far, no more annoying pop-up windows.

Fingers crossed.

I have a different problem - where the a Growl notification will pop up to say to "click here for an updated version of Growl"...but I can't click it!!! It disappears quickly!

So I manually downloaded the updated version from the website, successfully installed it....but that notification seems to pop up at least once a day.

Are you sure you are successfully installing it? It might tell you that you are are, but maybe you aren't.

Make sure you quit growl. Via the applescript, or if that doesn't work, switch it off by removing it from your startup items and restarting. As well, make sure the system preference pane is "off" or whatever choice you have. Not running or something.

Then try installing the new version.

Let us know how you get on.

you have possibly installed it for yourself as a user and again for all users...

Remove all references to growl from the computer, then install it once...
