Well, you probably aren't playing them yet (not long left though!), but what games have captured your fancy on the App Store?

Have to say Bedazzled 2, I loved that game on my Palm Treo. A big must for download once 2.0 becomes available for me, plus Super Monkey Ball, my wife wants that game,

Super Monkey Ball and Bomberman. SMB because it looks great from the screenshots and the accelerometer function seems cool, and Bomberman because I haven't played it since the original Game Boy was around, and I remember it being fun.

Edit: iAntz seems good too. You save ants from getting caught in a trap!

Don't have my iPhone yet, but I'm excited about Tap Tap Revenge - I've already got it downloaded in iTunes and ready to go.

I have Super Monkey Ball. The original Gamecube version is one of my all time favorites but on the iPhone the control seems pretty bogus. Maybe I haven't worked it out yet. It's pretty clear already though that it's going to be a great gaming platform.

The monkey either goes too fast or too slow :(

Tap tap revenge is neat except it needs more songs.

I know they aren't really "games" but I plan on getting, band and sketches soon, just needa pickup an iTunes card.

Anyone tried crash bandicoot or cro-mag racing yet?
I wanna buy one of either but $13 for a small racer is a fair bit to spend on a potentially bogus racer

I don't want a game that uses the accelerometer; no use on the bus.

Tap Tap Revenge is the best freeware game I've tried (well, I've only tried freeware). The two player features are also really cool although it does get laggy at times :P.

I second that. No fun playing Crash Bandicoot Nitro Cart in a car. When someone turns, you turn too :P

Shanghai Mahjong a pretty addictive game that works really well and gives you truckloads of options with backgrounds, tilesets etc.
Was well worth the five bucks

Super Monkey Ball is hard, but fun. I couldn't get past level 2, but that might be because I was playing on the bus. I kept launching the monkey into the water. :(

Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart looks great. The controls take a bit of getting used to, so it's good that it comes up with an automatic tutorial level before you get into racing. I'm still not sure whether tipping the iPod forward is accelerating or not, and I haven't mastered powersliding yet, but I'm pretty good at jumping.

Its always accelerating. I think I prefer this to CroMag Rally's scheme.

Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart is a pretty cool arcade game - very similar to the console versions of the game but with accelerometer action!

Monkey Ball - Accelerating is difficult to control but Fun
Enigmo - I find very addictive, bit like lemings although killing water drops isn't as satisfying.
Tap Tap - i haven't played much but is visually good
iPint - is funny but has no pint
Solitaire - An all time favourite

And although this isn't a game
Shazam - is a gold App, it can tell you the name of the song you are listening too. For example in the movies hear a great song don't want to wait till the credits, just turn on shazam and it will tell you the title, give you the album art, and search itunes if you like. great App

Big W have a $50 iTunes card for $30.
I bought one on Saturday and it is a very good way to get cheaper Apps/Games

matthewk

I just got Bejeweled and its pretty good, though a bit small on the screen. It should be good on the bus as the only point for the accelerometer is to adjust orientation. Its not worth $13, but I got it for $7.8 thanks to the $30 for $50 deal.

Is Super Monkey Ball or Crash worth it?

Hold'Em, SMB, and TTR.

TTR is really nice compared to the Installer.app version.

Monkey ball will be fun (and I'll get it) when/if they fix the problems with the accelerometer being too sensitive.

I got this last night, this is really good for a freebie, great graphics and sound, surprised the developer is not charging for this when you compare it to some of the crap that they want 5 bucks for.
Well worth a look at.

Well worth a look at.It's because it's a preview/demo for a more full featured online game. I'm loving these hybrid puzzle/rpg games. They could have just made a Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puzzle_Quest:_Challenge_of_the_Warlords) clone, but it looks like they've gone their own way in creating a unique twist on the puzzle part with the accelerometer. Let's just hope the actual RPG part is as good and deep as the aforementioned game. This could be a real winner!

Speaking of great games, Trism is the best new puzzle game I've played in years and truly couldn't exist on any other platform! Kudos to the developers for this amazing innovation!

I remember seeing a Quake 3 port running on an iPod Touch. Where can I acquire said port, as it would be awesome to play on the iPhone, even if just for lolz.

Thanks, I'll have a look at it as soon as I can justify spending yet more money on the App Store! :o

I'm having a lot of fun playing Brain Challenge (http://www.gameloft.com/iphone-games/brain-challenge/), which is a fun combination of mini-games.

Yeah, it's not too easy to play. The iPhone is an interesting platform. Great input method for some games, awful for others.

It's going to be interesting to see how developers make use of it; I mean aside from the obvious tilt to steer, etc. It has massive potential, and I really hope we see some outstanding stuff in the future.

Vay is an awesome RPG port from an old Sega game.

Fully featured leveling/random encounters/world map, etc, etc

I like it a lot. Worth the $6 easily. Played for about three hours so far and have barely scratched it.
