Download now people :)

Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home — a free download from the App Store.

If you don't like software update, visit Apple - iPod + iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes) to download.

Has anyone mentioned that . . .

Go to Preferences - General

Under the Show section, you now have an option for Applications.

And a whole lot of nothing to put there . . . for now.

That's new, right?

Yes it's new in 7.7 and has been mentioned before in here (and is actually up and running already, App Store):

You can get apps if you make Applications visible in the General tab of Preferences, then click the Get More Applications link at the bottom of the Applications view.

That normally happens when you are trying to open an iTunes link, from within your browser. Select iTunes.app to open those links.

But that shouldn't happen when you're trying to install iTunes though. Download the DMG from Apple - iPod + iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes) or fire up Software Update again.

Yup. Should arrive anytime now.

7.7 seems to be running fine for me. No problems or anything. Which is to be expected from a point update.

Since when have we been able to sync Google/Gmail contacts with iPod touches/iPhones?

I found it under "Sync contacts with:"

And the choices being:
- Yahoo! Address book
- Windows Address Book
- Google Contacts
- Outlook

I just saw this mentioned on iLounge.com. Apparently it was new in 10.5.3:

Google Contact Sync

As part of Apple’s Mac OS X 10.5.3 update, synchronization of your Google Contacts with your iPhone was added to the iTunes sync options. At this point, Windows users were left out, as this feature came as a Mac OS X update, rather than an iTunes update. However, as of iTunes 7.7, Google Contact sync has also been brought to Windows users.

Yeah, first thing I got. Should be handy!

Some seem expensive though, don't think I'll ever see myself paying 17 bucks for an app.

There are some interesting free apps. Will the box office one work here for Hoyts and Greater Union?

Have you seen the iBeer app? Who would pay $3.99 for that?

Joe91

Check out iPint. It's the same thing, but free.

Ha ha. I like the Zen garden one......but not for $9.99. It would be great if you could download a free trial to see if it is any good.

Ok, now this is weird, there is a Birth Buddy app, where you count the contractions when you (or your partner) is in labour! Who comes up with these things????

Japester

There are at least 3 zen gardens. I bought Attaining Zen for $2.49: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284993286&mt=8
