Is there any resonable MSN Messenger clients out there that don't sign out constantly? I have been able to handle the once-or-twice-per-hour sign out thing but today it is signing me out every 2 mins! There has just got to be an alternative that works!!

Maybe just ditch MSN, get an AIM name and use iChat? Thats what i'd do. :)

I use protues 4 which gives me no hassles whatsoever. Here's a screenshot:

I reccomend it.

Which client are you using now?

Hey that looks neat as Disko! I'm currently using/attempting to use the official Microsoft one, MSN Messenger v3.5

I would love to convert fully over to another form of IM but most of my contacts only use MSN...

Proteus connects to many different protocols at once. eg: right now, i'm connected to msn, icq, jabber and aol.

Dowload it at: www.proteusx.com

If you want a freeware app, try UnI. I've used it for a few months now and like it. I also like how it does not join all my contacts together in one big lump of confusion (I have a couple of MSN accounts linked to mailing lists). Scripts allow you to check the weather, TV times, news, stocks, ISP usage meter (Internode & Telstra for now)... ***

There is very little in the way of documentation since it was originally intended for personal use by the author. He does lurk around on Whirlpool (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-user.cfm?id=6255) offering help and listens to feedback.

*** To access/enable this, you need to copy the example script (modified accordingly) into UnI's script window. These are located in UnI package contents: Contents/PlugIns/ScriptDisplayModule.uni.bundle/Contents/Resources/Scripts
Using TextEdit (or similar) open the necessary script and copy into UnI.

What skin/theme are you using? It looks really neat. I'm currently using proteus 4. Tried using Fire but found that it was slow in sending messages

It's just the standard theme with customised colours and every background colour set to be 60% transparent. :)
