Hey guys,

Just a quick question to see if this can be done.

Want to know whether iTunes can handle being fed Music from an internal HD, whilst also having movies/tv shows fed to it from an external.

The thing that I think is going to catch me out is that I like my iTunes to sort out itself, and copy - Is there anyway to override this without losing the functionality of this feature on the music side?

PS Wouldn't have a clue as to how I would search this, so please point me in the right direction if this has already been asked.

Thanks!

Don't see why it wouldn't work.

You'll have to turn off copy (in the advanced tab in preferences). iTunes will then let you organise your media anyway you wish.

However if you wish for iTunes to manage your music (for example) in your nominated iTunes music folder and leave your movies on an external HD, you will need to remember to turn the copy on when adding music (and iTunes will copy the music to your internal HD) and turn it off when adding movies (and iTunes will leave the Movie on the external HD, but available in iTunes).
