I was thinking, if you had a certain dollar amount to spend on computer (or related hardware) what would you get?

Lets say the amounts were, $500, $1000, $2000, $5000 and $10,000 ($AU), what would you get for each amount?

For me:

$500 - 1Gb RAM (if it were cheap enough) or an iPod or a 250Gb SATA HD or 7200k RPM notebook HD.
$1000 - More than one of the above, or maybe three.
$2000 - One or more of what I'd get for $500 + a new Denon surround receiver for my system + Van Den Hul cables.
$5000 - New Powerbook with Superdrive + iPod or 7200k RPM HD.
$10,000 - All of the above and maybe new Paradigm speakers as well as the Denon surround amp and new CD player.

I don't think $10,000 is enough for that.
