That is phenomenal.

I actually gasped when the engine cover opened.

This is amazing. I would like it to be a little shorter and less Batmobile-like.

Sorry if I'm an idiot, but wouldn't there be ways for a vandal to come along and just cut the skin off?

Ricky.

Yeah, I guess that'd be something they'd have to look at.

I'm sure they'd be able to come up with a material that can't be burned (except at REALLY high temps), and is knife-proof.

This would also help a lot of people who are prone to small bingles....

That's ridiculously good looking and such a simple, lateral idea!
As for vandalism - there's nothing to stop a tosser making an expensive mark on any car built right now!

Nice find!

Link seems broken for me though. Corrected here... Concept Cars: Shape-Shifting BMW Concept Car Is Made of CLOTH (http://gizmodo.com/5015266/shape+shifting-bmw-concept-car-is-made-of-cloth)

It's back to the future, remember those old aeroplanes made of timber and canvas? BMW have taken old technology and made it new.

Even if it got vandalised, I'm betting replacing the cloth is cheaper than replacing a panel.

i got this via my rss from yankodesign.com

Just thought i would give them props since they have heaps of cool industrial design stuff.

I like where that car is heading :)

I'm not a huge fan of the actual shape and design, but the ideas it brings to the table are phenomenal.
