Hey everyone,

Does anyone with a new Powerbook hear their speakers crackle when the grey startup screen makes the transition to loading OSX - its as if they are being powered on then off and you can hear the crackle like when you run wires connected to a speaker over battery terminals.

I think it's also done it during normal OS operation when the speakers turn themselves off if theres no sound being played.

Thanks

Yep, running the clamshell off 240 V AC will do that (induce crackling noises that is)

However regarding the original enquiry sometimes my desktop makes similar noises but as I rarely ever reboot it is something that I never really gave much thought to until now. I think that maybe unless you have ongoing crackling noises during normal operation not to worry.

cheers, kim
