It's been seven long months since iStat menus 1.2 was released, but hopefully the wait has been worthwhile. iStat menus 1.3 includes some very significant interface upgrades as well a myriad of bug fixes and small tweaks.

http://islayer.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/ism.jpg

Here's the full list of changes...

Interface Updates
Text shadows that match Leopard's menubar text shadows and rounded graph corners (the text shadows are editable).

Network Extra
Copy IP buttons, PPP controls (both 10.5 only)

Electric sensors in Fans extra
The Fans extra has been renamed "Fans & Power". It can now monitor power, current and voltage sensors on PPC and Intel Macs.

Process monitoring
added to mem extra plus updates that should fix any problems people were having, better launchcfm names.

CPU extra
We've added something we call "actual running time". This is the computer uptime minus the time it's been asleep, so the actual time it's been actively doing something.

Other changes:

Swapped order of disk activity arrows - read is now on top
Added font size options for most menubar text modes
Added shadow options for most menubar text modes
Added process monitoring to memory extra
Added PPP controls to network extra (10.5 only)
Added configuration switching for network connections where applicable - vpn, modem, bluetooth (10.5)
Added option to use rounded corners on menubar graph modes
Leaner date & time dropdown
Added current read/write values as text to activity monitoring in drives extra/li>
Improved support for LaunchCFM application names in process monitoring
Fixed display bug with memory pie graph when "MEM" label was turned off
Aqua skin in date & time extra now respects the system theme (10.5)
Bug fixes with using a SMART drive as the primary temperature sensor
Improved SMART temperature monitoring
Fixed math bug in used/free mode in memory extra
Added option to disable SMART temperature monitoring when running on battery power
Added basic accessibility support to all extras
Updated Preference Pane interface
Updated clock format selector
Replaced old world clock format options with a new format selector
Added Power/Voltage/Current monitoring support to updated fans extra (now known as Fans & Power)
Updated process monitoring server
Added ability to copy ip addresses in the network extra (10.5 only)
Improved MDD temperature support
Improved Macbook Air temperature support
Network extra will now shows decimal values for KB/Kb values
Added option to to show removable media in disks extra
Improved support for vpn connections in network extra

Don't forget: command-draging menubar items lets you rearrange them. Very handy when you have quite a few menu extras from iStat menus running.

Don't forget #2: Please donate (http://islayer.com/paypal.php) if you like iStat menus.

Excellent!

Another great release from the awesome iSlayer team!

Keep up the great work, guys!

Now if only Firefox was as good as you guys, development wise :p Then again, I've seen some pretty shocking development timetables for other applications... But as usual, the iSlayer team are just mind-blowingly awesome. :D

I just installed the release version of 1.3 and, unlike the betas, it cuts off the left side of my network menu. See below:

How did that happen? :-)

click on the edit button and in the sheet that is brought up there is a menu on the top right that lets you select which display mode it uses. That screenshot looks like its in the icon only mode so switch to "text & icon" and it should work

On my Powerbook (Tiger) the clock/calendar won't change skins (it's Aqua I guess) and there are no navigation arrows for the calendar like the screenshot on TUAW. Are those features Leopard dependent?

*EDIT* I also have no "Open iCal" button.

Hi,

Very nice application! I saw a screen shot on TUAW showing iCal events being listed in the menu. I can't seem to get this to work, even though I do have events in my iCal today - they don't show up. I installed iStat on another Mac and am having the same issue there as well. First mac is a 15" MacBook Pro (LED Screen from 11/2007). Second Mac is a Macbook Core Duo, both running 10.5.3.

When upgrading to 1.3, the clock display got scrambled. Presumably this is because you changed the schema in 1.3 for the clock display "format string"? This happened on two different computers.
