Ok, this might seem like a silly question, but does my computer support n networks? I have a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo.

does it support n? as i have just downloaded the updater thing, which it told me to do, and it keeps telling me i dont have supported hardware :(

I think that 802.11n came in with the Core 2 Duo systems. I have a 2ghz Core Duo and it's 802.11g.

The way to tell for sure is:

Finder > Utilities > Network Utility > Select Network Interface (en1) and it will show you the card speeds supported at the bottom left of the box:

Hardware Address
IP Address(es)
Link Speed
Link Status
Vendor
Model: Wireless Network Adaptor (802.11 a/b/g/n)

It will only list the types your card will support
