View Full Version : Griffin iMic vs. NE Mic Audio Adapter

This is probably a stupid question but what is the difference between the Griffin NE Mic Audio Adapter and the Griffin iMic (apart from the USB)?
Streetwise's website says "It is compatible with all Apple desktop computers with a 3.5mm PlainTalk input connector." What is a PlainTalk input connector? Is that the line-in on the G4 PB?

BTW I am looking into audio recording because I would like to record a musical instrument into GarageBand, but I have no experience with this at all, so ANY advice at all is great!

At the moment, I think the best set-up would be an external mic hooked up to my PB via some sort of intermediate device like the Griffin iMic.
Quality doesn't have to be fantastic, I'm no audiophile and this will mostly be for personal use.

If anyone could give me some tips for a mic that'd be great too. and just one more question, what is the difference between a powered and unpowered mic?
