Pffft. Google's Gmail doesn't support Safari. But you can "login anyway".

Now all i need is an account. :)
Is anyone here one of the beta testers? It'd be interesting to see if parts of the service are useable in Safari.

There's been a bit of grumbling about how Gmail does it's thing (scanning all of your mail), but if you the privacy policy over there is kosher, the whole thing seems OK.

I'm planning to use it as online storage/backup for small jobs (that is, files that are small enough to be uploaded and downloaded relatively quickly) -- with 1 GB of storage, why not? B)

I'm just responding to the "why not"? bit:

Because I hate uploading stuff using a browser.

Won't stop me from signing up though. :) Maybe as a spare email account... I thought free email excitement died years ago!

It looks like google will be making the final release of Gmail Safari compatible: http://maccentral.macworld.com/news/2004/0...t=1082962033000 (http://maccentral.macworld.com/news/2004/04/25/gmail/index.php?redirect=1082962033000)

"We're going to make it work with Safari and that's one of the high priority things," Brin told MacCentral. "Iíve heard that you can sort of get it to work if you're desperate. I want to fix that, and I want to make it work really well."
