Hi All.. I've got a problem with my trash, and its getting to me. Im running out of HDD space so i need to get this sorted quickly.
I'm running 10.5.2, on an intel iMac..

I've got a few GB's in the trash, but it won't empty, goes through the normal things but doesn't display error messages or anything. Here's what I've tried

Option + Empty Trash
Terminal Commands:
sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash
sudo rm -rf /Users/damon/.Trash/*
Secure Empty Trash
I've tried Onyx to empty it

Nothing is working, here is the console message

10/04/08 3:31:56 PM com.apple.launchd[212] (0x10b9d0.Locum[493]) Exited: Terminated

While looking at console I noticed that the machine keeps doing this: WTF??

it appears to be doing that in a constant loop.. those aren't in order either its hard to copy them out and keep up with it..
So apparently I have two issues, the trash that won't empty, and some things that are trying to launch for no reason.

Have you tried updating OnyX (http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs2/english/onyx_leopard.html) to its Leopard compatible Beta version?

Possibility the Second: option key down whilst emptying the Trash?

Possibility the Third: iEmpty 1.2 (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14735/iempty). Freeware.

Are you able to drag everything out of the Trash?
(for a closer inspection on what is in there...)

Have you tried verifying and repairing your disk with Disk Utility? I had the same problem with one of my external drives (it left files in my trash and every time I plugged it back in they returned to my trash). The verifying and repair of the drive resolved the issue.

yeah tried that.. now that I've got everything on the desktop.. I'll try again.

Still dunno whats goin on with that other looping thing tho.

Any suggestions?
