Ever since I upgraded to leopard I've had a small problem with naming new folders.

When I hit Command+Shift+N to create a new folder, more often than not it doesn't allow me to type a name for it. I have to hit enter or click on the text field to edit the name.

Basically it looks like this:

When it should look like this:

One reason I think it might be is that it seems to be happening when it is loading quick look previews. But I'm not sure that this is the only time it is happening.

I know it isn't a big problem, but when it happens many, many times in a day it gets annoying. Does this happen to anyone else? Any solutions?

Cheers

it seems to work fine for me, though you can also just press return when the folder is selected, this will allow you to edit the folder name also...

hope this helps?

That's what I've been doing but it has also been reordering it alphabetically down to U for untitled folder... So if you have lots of files within a folder you then have to scroll down to U.

when files and folders are in list view it defaults to aplhabetical order by default.
