Just got home and this was on my screen. The computer was frozen and i had reboot. I've never seen this message before and it doesnt look like a proper Apple error message

That is very much a proper Apple message, it is known as a Kernel Panic (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106227).

Let's emphasis. There are no viruses on Mac OS X.

I had this on my eMac. it is a legit error message. it's the equivalent of a BSOD. i tracked my message down to flakey ram.

That's a kernel panic, no?

Not a VIRUS! Come on!

Thank god i haven't encounted one, yet. At least OS X is nice when it crashes, and tells you to restart!

good news is it's not a virus, but it is an apple screen which indicates a serious problem.
I'd run disk utility to check for problems right away. You could also boot into single user mode and run a file system check (fsck - cy)

Also try booting from your install DVD and do a full hardware check.

Funny thread. If you were running OS 9 you'd know exactly what the equivalent error (http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/b/bc/Macosbomb.png) looked like!
