Hey,

I've been using my 500 GB WD Studio for Time Machine backups since Leopard came out. The Time Machine backups are around 240 GB. On my desktop, it is saying that there is only 85 GB left.

Doing the maths, 500 - 240 doesn't equal 85 GB. So, I'm wondering if there was a way to reformat or do something to get my space back with out loosing all my Time Machine backups?

Thanks,
Tim

Doesn't the TM sparseimage expand when it's mounted? I seem to dimly recall something about that...

Further more...a 500Gb hard drive doesn't format to a 500Gb file system :)

EDIT: For future reference a 500Gb drive is actually 465.8Gb usable for file systems..

Yeah, I know that it formats to a smaller size but that still doesn't add up eh?
