Touch screen 8 inch MacTouch :)
Sorry, it's not a notebook, but it's what I want!
Penryn, 2 gigahertz, $800.

And it should have that Apple Flair in design.
And 802.11n
And that is all.

Eight or ten inch multitouch-driven screen, no keyboard. PA6T processor (2x2.0 GHz) for a six to eight hour charge-life, 64GB MRAM as operational memory and storage.

They don't need another notebook - they need another desktop!

However, the notebook I'd like to see is transformable into a tablet, but with Apple's usual skill, a tablet that would actually be usable. It wouldn't have to be flash, it would have to appeal to students and small businesses to get good penetration, but then they could put out a higher specced version when the cheap one is a runaway success... ahh - one can dream!

Where else would we post? I'm fairly sure we all know how to use a forum, tommy.

I just want a MacBook Air with 1440 x 900 (or higher) screen resolution.

Would 1920 x 1080 be too hard to read? :p

12 inch touch sensitive screen, say, 1280 x 800 or thereabout; a slide out keyboard (like a drawer) for when you have to type; 8 hour battery; ethernet, wireless & bluetooth for connectivity; 2 GHz C2D or similar; 200 GB solid state disk; built in optical drive.

$2500

Well...i'd like a MBP with a swivel touch screen (to use it as a tablet Mac as needed) and with user replacable RAM and HDD ala the Macbook.

An EeePC killer- something between an iphone and the macbook. 9 inch screen (not touch), low specs, simple and portable form factor take anywhere machine - priced competitively with the EeePC.

I know most of you would have seen these already;

But my guess at the next notebook is actually a multi-touch tablet.

Like so;

I'd settle for the MacBook Air having built in HSDPA 3G. (and maybe a Firewire 800 port)
