From a friend at work:

New powerbooks have a motion sensor (or, more accurately, a 3-axis accelerometer) so that they can spin-down the hard disk in the interval of time that passes between pushing the computer off your desk and watching your computer spray its bits all over the ground. You might lose your mac, but at least you'll still have your data.

Anyway, the motion sensor is accessible in software, and these guys have written software which creates synthesized keyboard/mouse events in response to motion sensor input.
