Heya,

Does anyone know if iCal can populate your calender with public holidays? I know Outlook could do it by picking your current region, and it then populates your calender with the holidays accordingly.

Cheers!

Nope but just enter them manually... the dates usually don't change so you can set it to repeat every year but for the ones that do, well, disable that option of repeating indefinitely.

you could try subscribing to one of these:

iCalShare - Share Your iCalendars! (http://icalshare.com/index.php?topic=holidays)

Subscribe to http://icalx.com/public/rohanl/Australian32Holidays.ics in iCal and set it to update every week. Sorted.

That's cool, just been thinking about something like that. Now for the school holidays...

Edit:
Got it, from the icalshare link above

Anyone know of any calendars which have other days like Mother's Day, St Patrick's Day, Valentines Day, etc.

Not exactly holidays, but would be useful to know.

Apple used to maintain a list of iCal files to subscribe to. Wonder what happened to that. Although last time I checked they haven't updated it in years.
