Ok here is a strange one.

Ordered a new 2.4Ghz MBP the other day. It arrived today and i've just opened up the box and it clearly states that it only has 1 x 1GB Ram. I didnt even know you could order them with only 1GB any more as the base config seems to be 2 x 1GB.

It lists 1x1GB in 2 places.

On the outside of the Black Box.
Inside the MBP under the battery.

Very strange.

I shall be calling Apple tomorrow, however figured i would post here to give others a heads up. You never know who might be interested.

I dont really care as i will be swapping out the ram anyway with 2 x 2GB sticks, but still it kinda sucks having 1x1GB printed inside the machine.

What are the chances that i will have to send it back? give me a refund on the stick of ram? or courier a new stick out to me?

BTW it was a custom ordered machine with a 200GB 7200RPM HDD, shipped direct from China

I received my 2.5Ghz custom order today, and mine says the exact same thing in the same spaces! The only customised component was the hard drive (I also chose the 7200rpm option).

It did arrive with the correct 2gb installed.

Just pulled out the Screw Driver, yep 2x1GB under the hood.

Its a Ferrari with a Porsche engine under the hood to me!

Well I wouldn't see any reason to complain to Apple then

You got everything you paid for except it isn't written properly under the battery

Still is something you wouldn't have thought would make it to production models though

It might end up being a rare collectors item, like when stamps have mistakes :p
