Hi there

Had a look around and can't find an OEM copy of Office 2008 for Mac. Does it actually exist? If not, why not, seems a little biased that Microsoft would offer OEM on XP and Vista but not for Mac? (or is that part of MS's usual evil plan to screw the Mac user)

I don't believe it exists these days...

Selling an OEM product would only make sense (in the Mac world) if Apple were the ones selling it... and they have their own product (iWork). Odds are, Apple just isn't interested in a deal like that any more.
I can't imagine why Apple would want to sell you Office at a discount when you bought a new Mac... Selling the competitor's product at a discount isn't smart.

It's a whole other story in the Windows world...
OEM is a great way to make sure customers are getting as many Microsoft products as you can shove down their throats at sale time. It's good for the retailer, good for Microsoft, and ultimately, good for the customer.
