One minute it's there at http://labs.google.com/googlex/, the next it's
not. The front page news story about Google desktop for Mac is now a dead link.

I heard a rumour Google were jumped on by Apple's lawyers, but I don't buy
that, it seems to me as more Microsoft than Microsoft.

Ah ha, I should have googled before posting :D

</div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE ("ZDNet")</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'>Google&#39;s latest technology experiment paid tribute to Apple Computer, but the Mac OS X-themed version of the search king&#39;s Web site was taken down a day after its debut.

Google software engineer Chikai Ohazama played up his work, Google X, on the company&#39;s blog on Tuesday. Located on Google&#39;s test site, Google X featured an alternate way to connect to various services, allowing people to click on a series of graphical icons in a method inspired by a feature in Apple&#39;s operating system.[/b][/quote]

Looks like Apple out Macroplopped Macroplop.

try here for the cached link, though the images aren&#39;t there. however you get an idea of the genie effect for each of the google services...
