Either a) the trial version of iWork, or b) Office 2008.

Bear in mind that the iWork 08 trial is fully functioning for 30days, while I dont think the Office 08 Trial exists yet.

Convert it using this (Assuming you have Office):

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.mspx

or buy Office 2008

nope the office open XML convertor does not work.
Its funny because in the dock in the downloads pile i can actually see what it is and clearly see the way the document is set out. but i cannot effing well open it.

Open it with TextEdit or use QuickLook (select the file and press space)

it's an office 2007 excel file that hasn't been saved in an office 97-2003 format. you need to go to this page http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en
and download the office 2007 compatibility pack. install it on your windows machine and it will let you read docx, xlsx, and pptx files in whatever version of Office you are running.

edit: post 2000 versions only I believe.
