You can create a disk image of it in Disk Utility. Then burn to a dual layer dvd if you want.

I find having a Disc Image on an external drive is a great idea for when you decide you want to install the developer tools on multiple computers (but not have to wait for reading time off a DVD for each).

if i create a disk image of it on my desktop, drag it onto a blank dvd

1) how do i make it burn dual layer presuming i have the dual layer dvd. And do i just drag it onto the dvd and click burn?

and

2) will it act just like the original dvd? Simply put it in the drive and it starts up?

Thanks.

Nathan.

Incorrect. You need to go to the Disk util, select the image and select burn. You want to burn the contents of the image, not the image itself.

And will it automatically burn with a dual layer type mode?

yep it will burn dual layer automatically. you could also use Toast to copy the disk, which is also quite easy to do.

You have to use Disk Utility, or the burned DVD won't be bootable.
