found this on whirlpool:

apparently a small team are porting XMBC [xbox media centre] to OSX, with HD support

We’re a small, but dedicated team of individuals working on porting XBMC to OS X. Specially, we’re targeting Leopard on Intel hardware. We believe OS X provides a superior platform for the best media platform out there.

Our goal is to port the core code, and then enhance it with Mac-specific features, like Growl, Sparkle, and more."

sounds good..

Hacked AppleTV would be great for this :)

That's great, and something well worth donating funds too. Especially if they can carry it off with some success.

it's not very functional - i'm sure it's not supposed to be. right now it's just a working (sorta) front end. I was able to navigate menus and set up my itunes library. but had a few crashes on the way. still, it seems very snappy and looks great on the high res display so I'm sure to be watching this as it develops!
